Here are more polished guides focused on the AppSnapp method. It's the most favored method for jailbreaking/activating/assisting to unlock your locked 1.1.1 iPhone, since it doesn't require a computer.
Due to some bugs YouTube doesn't seem to work for some folks. Unconfirmed: SIM swapping doesn't work. To fix these niggling problems, you do require a computer unfortunately.
