Another one of those social type of sites like digg, but includes general news stories as well as user submitted content. Best part of this of course is that you can earn money from submitting content. It's still in beta now so no cash at the moment. But you should still see if you can get an invite.
Update: Thanks to Gray Wolf @ Wolf-howl.com, I've been invited into Newsvine. So I, too, can spread the love, erm, invites.

The title of this distribution amused me quite a bit. It's a neat list of free software that includes open source and freeware programs for Windows and OSX. They included favourites such as 7-Zip, Azureus, Firefox, OpenOffice, Thunderbird and VLC. I doubt I'll be getting this though, as I already have many of these apps installed! (or a similiar free app) Some are those that I'd heard about, but have no need for such as GIMP and Paint.NET. Anyway it's weird that there's no distro for Linux and individual download links are not available, maybe those links are in the wiki which is down at the moment.

A downloadable, uninstallable hot fix for the WMF vulnerability. There's also a WMF vulnerability checker. The earlier fix I posted may not be able to block some other forms of this vulnerability.
Update: Microsoft's patch

Here's a way to get into Windows Live mail - without an invite. Still working it seems, but it may not stay that way for long, so if you want it now's the time to get it.

To say that this is a very interesting concept would be a terrible understatement. If this were to be proven true with solid evidence backing it up, many physics theories would have to be thrown out the window. Whatever the truth may be, I hope some of the unexplained phenomena may be given some sort of explanation as a result of this.
