Patrick Moberg & Camille Hayton in NYGirlofMyDreams

Comments

With the recent writer's strike and all, television schedules are being messed up and viewers are left staring at a blank screen. Ok, you can almost always catch something on TV, but it seems that unscripted live reality internet drama is where everyone's at.

How it started

While travelling on the subway, a young man named saw the girl of his dreams. Eager to stalk track her down, he created a highly viral website designed to keep us guessing at the identity and appearance of mystery girl.

Enter , which Mr setup to help in his quest for the girl known to him only as Rosy Cheeks.

NYGirlofMyDreams part 1
Rosy cheeks, not insane

A minor setback followed by the revelation

Unfortunately for Patrick, while the sketch was very detailed and informative, his doodling skills aren't quite up to standard. It turns out that mystery girl worked at but it wasn't only until later that . On 11/07/07, 1:18 p.m., .

NYGirlofMyDreams part 2
Found her!

And the rest as they say is history, except that the drama continues as we speak. :)

Operation for the Girl Born with Eight Limbs

Comments

Wow, this story I read at the Telegraph was so amazing and fantastic that I couldn't resist sharing it with everyone. Apparently this two year old girl, Lakshmi Tatma (named after a Hindu goddess that has four arms), has four arms and four legs because her twin did not develop fully during her mother's pregnancy.

Lakshmi Tatma playing with her mum

Because of this, many Indians regarded her as a reincarnation of that goddess and went to get a blessing from her. However, she will soon be undergoing an operation to remove the extra limbs in order to increase her chances of survival.

Lakshmi Tatma's X-ray

As you can see from the X-ray, this will not be a trivial operation and will take many surgeons and specialists. Hopefully, all will go well and she'll be able to lead a normal life.

World smile day October 5th is World Smile Day®, and the theme is "Do an act of kindness. Two Headed Turtle - I've Got Your Back Buddy

Comments

Ever wished you had eyes on the back of your head? Well, this turtle has got it all and more. With 2 heads on opposite ends of the shell, this turtle could turn out to be a mean ninja turtle... If it could decide which way to go. For this turtle, two heads are definitely not better than one.

Edit: For those who can't see the BBC video above here's an alternative video I found.

Ultimate Die Hard - Kid Flies in Airplane Wing!

Comments

Ultimate Die Hard - Kid Flies in Airplane Wing! Descended down digg: A 15 year old boy flies in the wing of a Boeing 737 and survives the entire ordeal!

Not sure why it was so incredible? Here's what he was up against:

  • 2 hour, 1,300 kilometers (808 mile) flight to Moscow
  • Flying at 10,000 metres above ground
  • Moving at 900 kmh (560 mph)
  • Estimated ambient temperature: -50 degrees Celsius (-58 Fahrenheit) !!!

And he made it through relatively unscathed except for severe frostbite on his hands. Hopefully the doctors can save his hands as well. Then he can take over the Die Hard franchise.

The Truck that Almost Fell is True!

Comments

The photos below looks too good to be true. But CNN has just confirmed its legitimacy and even has the story to back it up. Turns out that the truck hit a barrier, did a 180 degree turn and landed just inches away from the cliff's edge. And after all that, no one was hurt badly. What can I say? The driver should get an award for his amazing driving skills.

Fancy Eating Like Hannibal?

Comments

Fancy Eating Like Hannibal?

One look at this picture and I can tell that this is even weirder than my last post about mummified Japanese girls. This Japanese (not sure of its origin) banquet is actually a body made of food and wheeled in on an operating table for diners to feast on.

Upon slicing open the body, blood (red sauce) will sputter out to mimic an actual cut in a body. To spare you from grossing out on your keyboard, I've not included the image of someone making a cut, revealing all the internal organs for the world to see. If you're interested in the gory photos, you could check out the pics at the link below.

The drinks that they're having probably help in numbing them to the gross sight before them, but I'm not sure if I'll ever be drunk enough to even contemplate going to a cannibal event. On another note, what's the hair made of? Whatever it is, it sure looks realistic. Hannibal would be proud.

Mythical Chupacabra Found?

Mythical Chupacabra (vampire dog) Found? More weird stuff is happening in Texas (what are they doing down there?). The last one was a giant 200 yard spider web made by social spiders. Now a hunter claims to have found the mythical chupacabra. If you're going, "What?", welcome to the club.

Canion and some of her neighbors discovered the 40-pound bodies of three of the animals over four days in July outside her ranch in Cuero, 80 miles southeast of San Antonio. Canion said she saved the head of the one she found so she can get to get to the bottom of its ancestry through DNA testing and then mount it for posterity.

In case you are not a walking encyclopedia, here's an explanation of Chupacabra.

Chupacabra means "goat sucker" in Spanish, and it is said to have originated in Latin America, specifically Puerto Rico and Mexico.

And no, this isn't the first finding. Many people claimed to have found it before. But none were the Chupacabra. This probably won't be the last time that the Chupacabra gets discovered.

Mummified Girls is the Latest Japan Fad

Comments

Kegadoru in Akihabara, the latest Japan fad Just when I thought I became numb to all the weird stuff in Japan, kegadoru, which means "injured idols" when literally translated, comes along and scores one for Japan. Yes, those maid costumes are no longer the favorites of Otaku fans in Akihabara.

Wrapping yourself in bandages and eye patches is now the latest fad to hit Japan, at least for attention-seeking girls. One girl explains why she does it.

"When you're covered in bandages, everybody pays attention to you and worries about you. They also provide a chance to start talking to guys, who'll ask you how you hurt yourself, so the bandages are really, really good," she tells Weekly Playboy.

She also explains why the guys love it.

"One guy into the injured woman look told me that the reason he likes it is because he loves the idea of seeing a thin woman's body wrapped in bandages because it looked kind of like bondage and made him want to protect her from harm. I think those wearing the bandages get on well with the guys who want to look after them because they don't want them to get hurt."

And they have more interviews in the article with a psychologist and a porn novelist, who both have intriguing and differing views on this trend. See the article for their views (linked below).

This may only be gaining momentum only in Akihabara, but I'm sure this will spread like wildfire to the rest of Japan pretty soon (since girls in bandages tend to show more skin as you can see).

Turn Your World Upside Down

Comments

Upside down house in Poland

Did that just mess your head up? Nope, you're not seeing an illusion. The upside down house is not caused by some freak of nature but a deliberate action by some really rich guy in Poland. This polish philanthropist wants to remind people of wrongdoings (note the typo by Reuters in the link below) against humanity through this house.

And apparently it works really well. Workers that built this upside down house needed to rest every few hours while visitors get sick after just a few minutes in it. Just looking at the video may make you puke! Ok, I'm exaggerating.

But seriously, now you know the secret of getting people to listen to you.

Step 1: Get an upside down house.
Step 2: Lock people in it and throw away the key.
Step 3: Loop your desired message until they puke.
Step 4: Profit!

The Most Ambitious Spiders Ever

The Most Ambitious Spiders Ever, 200 Yard Giant Spider Web Engulfs Texas Park (Lake Tawakoni State Park) Trail at Willis (Wills) Point, Probably made by Social Cobweb Spiders

These are the world's most ambitious spiders. This spider web at the Texas Park Trail is so massive and widespread that its brownish tint comes from the dead mosquitoes and insects trapped in it. What were those spiders thinking? How about taking over the world one park trail at a time? Nah, I think they're just singing

"SPIDER TEAM

SPIDER TEAM

Does whatever a SPIDER TEAM does

Can we swing

from a web?

Sure we can!

We are spiders!

LOOK OOOUUUTTT!!!!

We are a SPIDER TEAM!!"

How Do You Go To School?

Comments

I bet it's nothing as exciting or dangerous as this. Most people walk, run or take a bus/car to school, but these kids have got balls of steel. Their mode of transport? A steel cable! And it's suspended a few hundred meters above a river gouge! Any mistake and you're dead. Just to get to school. I think I'll stay at home. Plunging to a watery death is just not my cup of tea.

By the way, while it does get a bit draggy, there's a twist at the end of the video. Be sure to watch till the end!

Introducing the multi-mini roundabout

Comments

Digger thommykno: That's incredible. How could that improve traffic flow?
Digger Blackmane: It doesn't, it annoys people so much that they take a different route and complete avoid the situation.

Lol, and I thought normal four lane roundabouts were bad.
